You can notice right away the fight going on for the f7-pawn: White has 3 attacks at the moment, while Black has 3 defences. Your tasks:
a) What plan should White follow to continue the attack?
b) What plan should Black follow to continue its defence?
c) Prepare the most likely line for White to win the game

Total available points for this puzzle is 30. The answers will be published next week together with puzzle #228.

Puzzle #226 solution:
Game Steinitz - Amateur. James answer was very good:
a) what makes the position imbalanced is the material: White has a Knight + Bishop for a Rook + pawn. This is good in the middle for White and it could be good for Black in the endgame
b) material is equal;
- White's King is in the centre, but not really anything is attacking it;
- Black's King castle is attacked by almost every White piece;
- White pins the g7-pawn with his Rook;
- Ne8 and Bf6 are defending the pinned g7-pawn
- Black has a Rook + Queen battery on the open c-file attacking nothing;
- Black's f8-Rook can be counted as doing nothing judging from its disability to move right now;
- White has an isolated d-pawn.
White's plan: should attack right now; come up with a way to win or trade the Knight + Bishop for at least a Rook + pawn to re-establish the balance.
Black's plan: should play defensively to proceed into endgame where he could have better chances.
c) Solution:
