The 13th Annual Susan Polgar Foundation Girls’ Invitational 2016 - BC Championship qualifier

GM Susan Polgar and Webster University are inviting the top Canadian girls from each province to participate in “The 13th Annual Susan Polgar Foundation Girls’ Invitational” (SPFGI) scheduled to take place at Webster University, Saint Louis, Missouri (date will be announced later). The event will offer more than $200K in prizes and scholarships. The annual Susan Polgar Foundation Girls’ Invitational, is the most prestigious all-girls event in the United States.
“Golden Knights” has proudly organized on April 3rd the 1st edition of the BC Championship, qualifier for the 13th annual SPFGI 2016.

REQUIREMENTS for participants:

  • Under 19 years old on Jan 1st 2016 (please provide date of birth)
  • Must reside in BC

TIME: April 3rd, 2016
PLACE: Charles Rummel Centre, 3630 Lozells Ave, Burnaby, BC V5A 2Y8
8 minutes walking from Lake City Way Station (skytrain). It is located in Charles Rummel Park, Burnaby with playing fields, playground and a water park. Food and beverages available at the skytrain station.

PLEASE COME ON SITE BY 9:00am

ROUNDS: 5 rounds 30 minutes per player (G30), 60 minutes for each round with clocks (provided):

  • Round 1: 9:30 – 10:30
  • Round 2: 11:00 – 12:00 followed by lunch break
  • Round 3: 13:00 – 14:00
  • Round 4: 14:30 – 15:30
  • Round 5: 16:00 – 17:00

Tie breaks for 1st and top 3 places if required. It will consist of a written chess puzzles test (Polgar method) within a given time frame. Tournament will be rated NW and CFC (active rating). FIDE rules of rapidplay apply!

PRIZES:

1st place:Clear of after tie breaks will represent BC, Canada @ SPFGI 2016
